Bath is great for unusual events, there is always something going on and last week it was the Pearl Izumi Tour Series finale. The tour pitches teams of elite riders against each other on challenging city centre routes throughout the UK and having seen other rounds on TV I was looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

The eclipse took place this morning over a misty Bath, the perfect chance to play with my 50mm prime lens, the latest edition to my bag. Usually you would reach for a long zoom lens and filters to take detailed shots of the halo around the moon but with a 50mm I was looking to take some arty shots with some context.
