Process & FAQs

Some of the more common questions I am asked before, during and after my photoshoots.

Pre-shoot

  • We'll discuss your project and any specific requirements you have. We can also discuss timings, access, logistics and any other queries you have.

  • I can advise on useful props and accessories we may use on the day. This will depend on what is already on location and the style of image you are looking to achieve.

  • I have a full checklist for you in the section below. Keeping your client in the loop is important and thinking about how you intend to use your images as that will determine the shots we take.

The photoshoot

  • On arrival I like to walk through the property and make a shot list. We then work room by room to make sure we capture the images you need.

  • Composing, styling and capturing a room takes time. Most interior shoots take a full day. If you are just capturing one or two rooms we may be able to finish in a half day.

  • The best weather for interior photography is a cloudy overcast day. If the exterior is important or the property has large windows, rain is not ideal. We will monitor the weather forecast and reschedule if necessary.

Editing and delivery

  • You can usually expect to receive your images within a week. If they are urgent I may be able to turn them around faster for you.

  • You will receive a set of small JPEG images ready for sharing and social media. I also render a high-res set of TIF images specifically for print.

  • Images are usually licensed to you on a non-exclusive basis. They can be used for your promotion worldwide, in all media with no time limit. More information on licensing.
